About the Foodist (full version)

I’ve lived in a tropical country, where spices are very important to our cooking. Our cuisine varies by region and is based on Chinese, European, Middle Eastern, and Indian precedents. Rice is the main staple food and is served with side dishes of meat and vegetables. Spices (notably chili), coconut milk, fish and chicken are fundamental ingredients. More info: About Indonesia.

I’ve traveled half the world to pursue higher education and career. But, I’ve always enjoyed eating food from different ethnicities.
For me, food is a passion, whereas travel is an adventure. Both goes along well and perfect when is done together. What is the fun of traveling without trying the food?
Thus, searching for the ultimate meal is a fun challenge. Eating all kinds of different foods is an adventure in itself.

My passion is to always ‘try something new and something different’.
I hope my writings will not only satisfy your curiosity but also satisfy your hunger. :)

“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” – St. Augustine

“If it looks good, eat it” – Andrew Zimmern on Bizarre Foods

“If you reject the food, ignore the customs, fear the religion and avoid the people, you might better stay at home.” – James Michener
